Disaster Relief Guidelines for Minors

1. Volunteers 18 years or older must complete a background check and be issued a photo identification badge.

2. Youth, ages 16-17, can take DR Orientation training. No background check is needed, and no badge is issued.

3. Youth must be accompanied by a trained adult Yellow Cap. If accompanied by a non-relative adult, the youth requires a letter of permission for a non-relative adult to supervise the youth.

4. There are some restrictions for youth in certain specialties (Feeding, Chainsaw, etc.) due to safety concerns.
