Texans on Mission Rebuild volunteers can help a Houston church restore a building damaged last year by Hurricane Beryl. Volunteers can work three days the first week, five days the second week, or all eight days.
TXM is partnering with The Carpenter's Hope, a Christian ministry in McKinney, to repair a home owned by New Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Houston. The home was heavily damaged by the hurricane, and the church would like to restore the building to serve as a senior adult ministry center.
Carpenter's Hope will lead the project, and TXM will work hand-in-hand on the work, which will involve interior restoration, as well as removing and replacing the outdoor siding.
Ten volunteers are needed, and TXM Rebuild will cover the Carpenter's Hope registration fee. Deadline is Dec. 22.
LODGING:
— Volunteers who need overnight lodging may stay at the church during the second week but not the first week. Cost of church lodging will be covered by TXM.
— Volunteers who want overnight logding in a hotel will need to make their own arrangements. (Carpenter's Hope has a block of rooms at a nearby hotel, and that link will be provided after event registration for those who need it.)
TXM will provide:
- Daily refreshments (i.e. water and energy drinks)
- Equipment, tools, materials and personal protection equipment on site (bring preferred closed toe shoes, gloves, sunscreen, caps, and sunglasses)
To register, complete the form below.
Project registration does not include transportation or any specific food requests (please plan accordingly to your personal restrictions)
If you have any questions, contact Rafael Munoz at Rebuildops2@texansonmission.org.
Please know that we are praying for those who will choose to be a part of this special work and this team.
