Church continues pattern of support for those in need
The day after the July 4 Hill Country flood, one of Community Life Church’s founding pastors, David Griffin, reached out to Texans on Mission about what the organization was doing and how the congregation could help.
Over the next few days, members added to their normal giving and raised $30,000 for TXM’s disaster relief effort centered in Kerrville, said Doug Hall, TXM donor relations officer. Community Life Church has five campuses east of Dallas — Forney, Sunnyvale, Kaufman, Rockwall and Canton.
“They are a generous and long-time supporter of Texans on Mission, and anytime there is a disaster they reach out to us about how they can help,” Hall said. “They trust us with the financial means to spread the Gospel and help people dealing with the effects of disasters.”
C Life Church also has trained TXM volunteers in the congregation and has hosted TXM Disaster Relief training events.
Hall said other churches have contacted TXM, as well, and will be stepping up to help. He is pointing churches to a website that gives information on how to be involved in the Hill Country relief effort — TexansOnMission.org/HillCountry.
