Texans on Mission has named Phillip Ditto as disaster relief director to lead the ministry’s response efforts in Texas, across the United States and around the world effective June 1.

A former army medic, Phil has over 20 years of emergency and disaster relief experience. He has served in leadership positions with the State of Texas, Team Rubicon, and most recently in ministry with Paul Carlson Partnership facilitating international health care development.

Ditto earned a bachelor's degree from TCU, two master's degrees from the University of Tennessee and Johns Hopkins, and a certificate in Executive Nonprofit Leadership from
Duke.

“The need for disaster relief ministry has never been higher,” said Mickey Lenamon, Texans on Mission chief executive officer. “Disasters are happening more frequently and
are causing more damage. We’re excited God has called Phil to lead and grow ministry efforts after disasters of all kinds.”

Ditto has served in disaster relief at every level from being part of a volunteer chainsaw team to leading a team to directing thousands of volunteers to working with state agencies.

"My family and I are incredibly excited to join this amazing team,” Ditto said. “Caring for others in their hardest days and sharing the good news of Christ is the greatest honor I have. I look forward to serving alongside this amazing team for His glory."

That calling is precisely why Texans on Mission tapped Ditto to lead its disaster relief ministry.

“As thrilled as I am about his background, his heart for ministry is what excites me most,” Lenamon said. “He is passionate about equipping, empowering and deploying people to share the Gospel. In addition to sharing the Gospel through disaster relief and medical missions, he is involved in his church’s prison outreach ministry and has taken chaplaincy courses at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.”

Ditto is married to Tasha (TJ), and has two daughters, Abigail and Kaitlyn. They are members of Doxology Bible Church in Fort Worth. Ditto also serves with the Matthew 25 Texas ministry for prisoners.

Since 1967, Texans on Mission has ministered to millions of people after every disaster in Texas, many across the United States and many around the world. Volunteer chainsaw, mass feeding, shower/laundry and fire and flood recovery teams jump start recovery efforts during people’s most difficult days.
