Hurricane Helene recovery continues, and Texans on Mission volunteers are doing what they can to help in Spruce Pine, North Carolina. Working with North Carolina Baptists On Mission, TXM and 121 Community Church in Grapevine are serving families by rebuilding homes and providing assistance where it's needed most.

Karen Rocha, 27, brings home a glimpse of the Texans on Mission mission trip work in Puerto Rico Oct. 19-26. The group is repairing two homes destroyed by Hurricane Maria in 2017, as well as conducting a Vacation Bible School with Coram Deo Church there. Thursday, five Texans on Mission volunteers began the process of rebuilding the Dyess Grove Baptist Church's structure after a June tornado ripped off one wall and half of the roof. The volunteers came from Crestview Baptist Church in Georgetown and Bell Baptist Association.

Brooke Brandon deals with a number of chronic illnesses that limit her mobility and require her to use a walker. A year ago this month she crouched in her hallway as a tornado ripped off the roof of much of her home in Matador, northeast of Lubbock. Last week, a Texans on Mission team from Lawn Baptist Church helped Brandon rebuild.
