This chainsaw training event has three options:
Basic Climbing & Rescue Training, March 5-9, 2024 ($40, limit 12)
Ground Support & Rescue Training, March 5-9, 2024 ($40, limit 6)
Rescue Training only, March 9, 2024 (no fee, unlimited number)
TBM Disaster Relief credentials must be current, and all participants must have completed the Basic Chainsaw Training class.
Basic Climbing students must be recommended by their Unit Leader/Blue Cap via the Basic Climbing Recommendation Form, which is available from David Meyer, davidmeyertx@verizon.net. Do not register for Basic Climbing if you have not first OK’d it with your Unit Leader/Blue Cap. No recommendation is needed for Ground Support students.
The Basic Climbing and Ground Support classes start at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, and end with Rescue Training at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 9. Cost for those two trainings is $40 (non-refundable except for class cancelation) and includes a reference manual, which you will keep.
Rescue Training (only) is 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, March 9.
Accommodations will be at the church under deployment conditions. Cots and associated personal equipment required. Meals provided by TBM. Shower unit will be available on-site.
