9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024

Target audience: TBM DR volunteers interested in developing the skills to work in the DR Rebuild ministry and who have completed the DR Orientation training. (Online DR Orientation is available. Click here.)

The object: After a mud-out or ash-out team has finished cleaning up after flood or fire damage, most homes are still not ready for occupancy. A DR Rebuild team brings a home up to a minimum standard to allow the homeowner and family to move back in. The course will cover basic skills necessary to replace the insulation on the outside walls, hang sheetrock, tape, float and prepare the wall for texture. The course will also cover how to hang doors necessary for security and dignity.

This is a six-hour course consisting of classroom work followed by hands-on training. The classroom time will cover the use of tools and techniques to quickly and effectively repair damaged walls. The hands-on training will use a mock-up room where the techniques and procedures for installing drywall will be demonstrated. Time permitting, participants will be able to practice what they have learned.

Tools, materials and lunch will be provided. There is no cost for this training. Pre-registration below is required.
